For most people, growing older means that there are times when you find it difficult to manage with day-to-day living activities, some tasks and jobs you would have done with little effort become impossible without assistance and this can be a hard realisation. You may need some help, or you may be caring for a friend or family member who needs some help, but you just don’t know where to start or what help you can get.
First of all you are in the right place, information and support in understanding what needs you or someone you are caring for requires is so important in this first step of engaging care. Every new client is met by a senior team member along with their family member where their exact needs can be discussed and agreed for a go-forward plan. Their needs may increase or decrease over time and homecare can be flexible in this regard. We reflect changes in clients needs through care plans, carefully and compassionately formulated, led by our inhouse Nurse and experienced Team Leads.
Homecare is centred on our clients but it is important that all stakeholders are active and part of the process – family members, designated medical professionals, PHN Public Health Nurse. Communication is key and we have found over the ten years successfully running Castle Homecare that clear, timely and factual communication translates to a smooth and supportive service for our clients.
This service is about people and providing care for them suitable to their needs alone. Our duty lies with the client and our wonderful local carers have been providing quality service to clients in the community for over a decade. At Castle Homecare we understand that entering a client’s home is deeply personal and we are there to assist as best we can, respecting the fact that we are entering their home and treating it in that manner rather than a workplace.
Every clients home will have a Castle Homecare folder held onsite, this operates as an active and up to date log of all care being provided by our Carers. This folder is updated at every visit made by a Carer to a client and is a vital source of continued quality care. Our folders are continuously updated and reviewed to ensure best practice and adherence to company policies.
There are many different types of home help services we provide to support you, whatever your needs. Homecare visits can be once a day or a number of times a day, this depends from person to person and what they require to assist them in their daily lives. All of our Carers are carefully selected, trained and vetted by An Garda Sìochana.
